Weekend Confetti Vol. 19
May 15 , 2021
Welcome to Weekend Confetti!
Here you will find your weekly dose of interesting and merry miscellany that you didn’t know you needed to know. I hope it adds some joy to your weekend! Cheers!
Happy National Chocolate Chip Day! (Not to be confused with National Chocolate Chip COOKIE Day…) Frankly, I am suspicious of people who say they don’t like chocolate. Even just a little bit of it occasionally. In order to celebrate properly, try this delicious looking pudding, decadent dip or a Chocolate Chip Pie! Or if you are feeling super-adventurous…how about a Chocolate Chip Dutch Baby?! I’ll be over in a few minutes to help you taste test everything.
May is also National Military Appreciation Month. If you are or know a military member, let them know about all these special discounts available to them this month.
For the rest of us, this month is the perfect opportunity to support Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends care packages to troops. You can buy a military egift card from Starbucks…they are donating to Operation Gratitude with every purchase.
Or buy a cool Operation Gratitude t-shirt from Oscar Mike, a non-profit committed to keeping our injured veterans on the move.
My sweet step-son graduates from college today! (When did that happen?!) If you have a graduation coming up, here are some ideas to celebrate your own special graduate.
I just wrote this about adding joy to your self-care routine.
Why it is important for your brain to take some downtime.
Grounding rituals may ease your anxiety.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Here are 9 Mental Health Campions to follow on social media right now.
The difference between Mental Illness and Mental Health.
Some thoughts on downsizing your goals.
Finding joy in simple daily acts.
Creating a formula for meal planning. (Yes, please.)
An argument for kids in the kitchen.
Why did I wait so long to read Jane Austen? A man speculates.
The way we talk to our teachers might need to get an upgrade. Hilarious.
A photographer who takes his picture from a view above. Breathtaking perspective!
This week’s Kindness Intention: to donate to a military charity.
Oscar Mike and Operation Gratitude are only two of the amazing organizations that support active duty military and veterans. Explore others like Operation Support Our Troops, Operation Healing Forces, the Gary Sinise Foundation, or Southeastern Guide Dogs.
And here is some kindness I found out in the world to make you smile at the goodness of people.
And lastly, a birthday of a dog’s dreams!
What is a Kindness Intention?
It is a way of keeping kindness more intentional in my own life by setting a weekly goal of kindness. And hopefully inspiring you to do something kind in your own world!
Happy Weekend, Joy Ambassadors!
