Weekend Confetti Vol. 18

May 8 , 2021

Welcome to Weekend Confetti!

Here you will find your weekly dose of interesting and merry miscellany that you didn’t know you needed to know.   I hope it adds some joy to your weekend!  Cheers!

For all the lovely moms, Happy Mother’s Day!

Here are Six Things Moms Actually Need this year. (You don’t even need to leave the house.)

If you need a last minute Thank You gift, make a list.

Or grab some crayons.

If Mother’s Day is a challenge for you this year, you aren’t alone.

I wrote this about Mother’s Day in my own life.

May 7th was Military Spouse Appreciation Day. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to be a military spouse, read this. (PCS = permanent change of station = where you will live next)

May 9th celebrates one of my favorite types of wine: World Moscato Day! The Best Moscatos to try and one we like.

Mother’s Day kicks off National Women’s Health Week…take this quiz to get a jump-start on making some small changes for your health!

If you were wondering how to honor Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month this month, try shopping at one of these small businesses.

Fashion hacks learned in quarantine. (Oh, thank goodness #4.)

What you need to know before buying a swimsuit online.

Guilt-free introverting. (Just in case you actually felt guilty.)

Low-rise jeans are back to ruin your life. Apparently. Say it isn’t so.

How to be both quiet AND fierce. (Sign me up.)

Let’s think of future us. This is inspired and will be going on my bathroom mirror.

I just bought these shorts and I am in love with them.

It would appear that mermaids DO exist! Part-time, anyway. SOO cool!

If you were wondering about Trader Joe’s cheeses.

CATastrophic Creations. Get it? (LOL-I love a good play on words.) I seriously need these in my life. Or in my cat’s life, I guess I should say.

As a bonafide child-at-heart, I can say with confidence if growing up means never reading a fairytale again, I think I’ll pass. Here are some ways to re-connect with your inner child, in case you have misplaced her.

This time-lapse storm video. I felt my shoulders relax and my breathing slow down watching this. Nature is incredible. (This video-taking is incredible. The transition from b&w to color is amazing.)

Something to look forward to!

This week’s Kindness Intention: to return carts to the carousel. Not all acts of kindness need to be elaborate.

Is this someone elses’s job? Yes. But isn’t it so much nicer for them if the carts are already in the carousel (where they belong)? Especially if it is raining or a zillion degrees out? A few minutes of my time = easing someone else’s burden = win, win!

And here is some kindness I found out in the world to make you smile at the goodness of people. (I hope Mr. Perfect would do this for me.)

What is a Kindness Intention?

It is a way of keeping kindness more intentional in my own life by setting a weekly goal of kindness. And hopefully inspiring you to do something kind in your own world!
