Weekend Confetti Vol. 10

March 13, 2021

Welcome to Weekend Confetti!

Here you will find your weekly dose of interesting and merry miscellany that you didn’t know you needed to know.   I hope it adds some joy to your weekend!  Enjoy!

March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day…so this week we are all about everything GREEN!

First off, you need to know your leprechaun name. No, seriously. Henceforth I would like to be known as Goldie O’Bourbon, if you please.

It may be Women’s History Month here in the US (and here are 5 American women to know), but there are still some Irish women I would like to introduce.

Some facts about St. Patrick’s Day to amaze your friends. The day is celebrated with parades all around the world, but guess where the first parade was held?! (I bet you’ll be surprised!)

While you may not be able to attend a parade this year, you CAN have some fun at home! Here are some simple suggestions: balloons, treats & oh, more treats. (Wink.)

Or maybe treats aren’t your thing. (??) If you are trying to balance things out, here are some suggestions from the five HEALTHY green food groups.

Spinich

Cucumber

Broccoli

Asparagus

Green Beans

They all look pretty yummy to me…that Green Bean one is a big hit around here.

We all want to be more green when it comes to the environment. Right?! Here are some simple swaps to try at home. (I’m still loving my water bottle.)

One place that doesn’t always come to my mind when talking about being a better environmental friend is my closet. Slow fashion. It’s a (green) thing.

AND… BONUS: a list! (I love lists.)

An important thing you may not know about me is that I am a Plant Princess. (I just made that up. Great, right?) I had always wanted to have houseplants, and I finally made it happen! They are home decor, air filters AND the quietest of children. Just sayin.

Here is how and why you should consider getting your green thumb on, too.

A good place to start is to begin by profiling and then learn some parenting. And then just dive in and experiment until you figure out what works!

For those of you who want to step the green thumb up a notch, I personally recommend this and this.

It may not be easy being green, but it sure is popular.

This week’s Kindness Inspiration: donate old electronics and old athletic shoes. Things that have been hanging around here for quite some time and can go towards helping someone else.

[Kindness Inspiration: a way of keeping kindness more intentional in my own life and hopefully inspiring you to do something kind in yours!]

And lastly, I just couldn’t decide between THIS one and THIS one. So you get both, you lucky thing.

Hope your Irish eyes are smiling this weekend!!
